Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQs) and Tips To help you navigate through all the changes of our
new banking system here are
some of the more commonly asked questions, problems and responses for MemberDirect, MemberConnect and MemberCard:
MemberConnect (telephone
banking)
-
When prompted for your
Member Account Number please enter your account number and not your
Personal Access Code and vice versa.
-
Telephone Banking and
MemberDirect Personal Access Codes (PAC) are not the same.
-
When you go to pay a bill
and have more than 7 vendors set up, you will hear these vendors listed
as 1 through 7. When you are prompted to list the next set of vendors -
they are also numbered 1 through 7...causing some confusion. Enter the
number of the vendor you wish to pay when you hear it. You will get a
confirmation before paying.
MemberDirect (internet
banking)
-
Transfer to Joint Accounts -
if you are the primary account holder you can transfer funds to a joint
or (secondary) account but not vice versa. That is, a member who is
joint on a primary account is not allowed to transfer funds to the
primary.
-
When you log in as the
primary account holder only the primary account holder's name is
displayed in MemberDirect and not the name of the joint member.
-
For enhanced security,
MemberDirect only accepts Personal Access Codes (PACs) greater than 4
characters. You must call or visit your branch to upgrade your PAC to a
5 to 8 character password to log-in.
-
For security reasons and
consistency, any business, union, or non-profit account that requires
dual signatures on cheques will not be able to pay bills on-line. They
can still log-in and see their account.
