Community Savings Credit Union Announces United Steelworkers Burns Lake Fund

The United Steelworkers (USW), a member of Community Savings Credit Union, are collecting funds to support Babine Forest Products workers and their families. To help the relief effort Community Savings is donating an initial $2,500 and are assisting in the collection of donations from the public.

“The International Woodworkers of America (IWA), which later merged with the USW, were our founding members. Accordingly, we feel especially compelled to assist in any way possible during this difficult time. The devastation at Babine Mill will be felt by the entire Burns Lake community for years to come and it is our hope that we can, in some small way, help them on the path to recovery,” said Doug Eveneshen, President & CEO of Community Savings.
