The convenient and safe way to send money internationally to 500,000 Locations in over 200 Countries

Western Union® Money Transfers via Interac e-Transfer® allows you to send money internationally using the Interac e-Transfer® to 500,000 Western Union® Agent locations through the convenience of your Online Banking account. You’ll need to be a Community Savings member to access this service. Accessible through your Online Banking, this product offers a convenient alternative to wires, drafts, and cheques. 

Quickly send money transfers from your online banking 

-  Login to your Community Savings online banking account

-  Click Transfers from the menu on the left-hand side

-  Select Western Union Money Transfer from the drop down list

-  Follow the steps as indicated and fill in information as required

When Community Savings members send money using this service, the recipient’s financial institution or account information is not required.
Recipients pick up the funds in cash at their selected Western Union® Agent location.

Once your Western Union Money Transfer is complete, you’ll need to provide your recipient with their pickup requirements, which typically include:

     -  Western Union Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN)

     -  Amount Transferred

     -  Security Question Answer (if required for your destination)

     -  Identification

Once the transaction is sent from Online Banking, the receiver is able to pick-up the funds within 30 minutes at a Western Union® Agent location of their choice. There are 500,000 locations in over 200 countries.

Union® Money Transfer via Interac e-Transfer® Fee

A fixed fee of $9.00 plus a variable fee of 1% of the principal amount will be charged at the initiation of sending a transfer. The fee is quoted during the transaction by WesternUnion® and will be included in the transaction amount on your statement.

Western Union® Money Transfers via Interac e-Transfer® can be cancelled as long as they have not been accepted by the receiver. The funds will be returned to your account. The service charge will not be refunded.
