Mark Jones  Joins Community Savings As Chief Operating Officer

Community Savings Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Jones as Chief Operating Officer.

As Chief Operating Officer, Mark Jones will be joining the executive leadership team and contributing to the long-term strategic success and achievement of the credit union’s purpose.

Mark Jones was the VP of Retail & Commercial Services at First Credit Union, a position he has held since the merger of Union Bay Credit Union and First Credit Union in July 2021. Mark was the CEO of Union Bay Credit Union since 2018 where he led the credit union through a period of significant growth and positive change. Before joining Union Bay Credit Union, Mark was with Coastal Community Credit Union for thirteen years. During his tenure with Coastal Community, Mark held a variety of cross functional positions, including Branch Manager, Business Relationship Manager, Manager of Lending Services, and Senior Manager of Corporate Planning.

Mark holds an undergrad degree in Business Administration from Vancouver Island University, a Masters of Business Administration from Royal Roads, and is an Associate of the Credit Union Institute of Canada.

He currently supports the Hornby Island Education Society as the Treasurer, and has previously held numerous volunteer directorships with non-profit organizations. In his spare time Mark loves to spend time outdoors with his two kids; hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking and any other activity that allows him to enjoy the best place on earth.
