3 Steps to Becoming a Member

1. Application

Start by completing the online application or visit your nearest branch and we will be happy to walk you through the process.

2. Identification (ID)

To complete the application process, you will need to provide two pieces of primary ID. If no primary ID is available, at least three pieces of secondary ID may be used – one of which has to be a government-issued document containing a picture.

  • BC or other province Driver’s license with photograph (not interim)
  • Current Canadian passport
  • Passports from other countries
  • Canadian Armed Forces ID Card
  • Other (must have picture, description, signature, security features, and expiry date)
 
  • Canadian Birth Certificate
  • Other province Driver’s License (without photograph)
  • Credit Card – VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Department Store (i.e.: Bay, Sears)
  • BC Identification Card issued by ICBC
  • Certificate of Indian Status Card
  • Certificate of Canadian of Citizenship
  • Provincial Health Insurance Care (i.e. BC Care Card)
  • NEXUS Card

3. Equity Share & Signature

Once approved, you will need to invest $5 in a Community Savings' equity share. This purchase will make you part owner of our credit union. If you should ever decide to leave the credit union, your $5 will be refunded with interest. As the final step, you will be asked to sign your membership application form.
