Our Community

Since 1944, Community Savings has been active in the well being and ongoing improvement of our communities. Community Savings is about people, not profits, which is why in 2016, we proudly donated over $45,000 to worthwhile and deserving community programs. People, not profits, means we contribute to a strong local economy by being a living wage employer and by offering affordable financial products and trusted services to the working community. In the past year, we are grateful that we could support local organizations in health, policing, leadership and other positive community focused programs.

Some of the organizations that we have supported include:

Supporting the Red Cross
Supporting the Red Cross:

The massive wildfires in British Columbians during the summer of 2017 triggered mass evacuations in several communities across the province.
Fast moving flames forced thousands of people from their homes and urgent help was needed for individuals and families evacuated from their communities.

$15,290 raised for The Red Cross of Canada
In response to the need for help, Community Savings Credit Union accepted cash donations at its six branches. Community Savings Members generously stepped up and donated $7790 to the relief efforts.

Community Savings donated $7500 and when combined, $15,290 was raised and donated to the Red Cross of Canada.

Thank you to our members for the support and generosity! It is a reminder that great things can happen when a community works together for a greater cause.
